The Potato Man Sculpture

“The Potato Man” a life-size sculpture represents every one of our Irish families and is located in the SW corner of McKennan Park.    This sculpture honors our Irish forefathers and mothers who experienced extremely difficult times in surviving the potato famine, traveling on the famine ships, and living in severe poverty and horrible working conditions after arriving in the United States.   They made this monumental sacrifice to provide a better life for their children, grandchildren, and you and me.
