8:00 p.m:
Northern Gael,
featuring Laura MacKenzie, Ross Sutter and Tom Schaefer

Ross Sutter is an absolutely splendid singer and a dynamite player of the bodran and the bones. Laura MacKenzie is a noted multi-instrumentalist, specializing in the wind instruments of Celtic traditions: wooden flutes, whistles, concertina, various bagpipes and voice. Ross and Laura have been performing together for eons, and their musical chemistry is an amalgam of the warmth, humor and understanding gained through many years in traditional music. They specialize in concerts of Scottish music (with an Irish element as well). When joined by extraordinary fiddler and South Dakota native, Tom Schaefer, they become NORTHERN GAEL, a powerful blast of traditional music. With great vocals, dazzling fiddle, flute, concertina and pipes, NORTHERN GAEL presents the balladry of Scotland, songs of Robert Burns, and the dance tunes of the Scottish and Irish countrysides with loving expertise.
